Jack of all trades, master of none

That’s how I see myself. Able to do most things, but none of them exceptionally well. If I decide to pursue one of them, would that affect everything else?

Not like I have the time anyway. Finally back to uni after a mega weekened (and I already missed my first lecture at 9 this morning lol).

Don’t worry cakes, I went for my 10am lecture. Eng Mech is cool, for now.

But yeah, what a weekeend! Darren bought drinks round after round after round.

Birthday boy gotta splash, eh?

Never thought of actually using green tea as a mixer for whiskey/bourbon. Quick way to get shitfaced.

Seven was, alright but overall……..”meh”.

But then again, getting drunk always fixes everything.

Booze cruise on Saturday night. Another night of free flow alcohol – ended too early.

The party was only getting started when they kicked us out. Booooooooooo.

It was a pretty bad time to end the party. Everyone who was drinking was probably at the peak of their drunkenness when it ended.

So we all somehow managed to find our way back home and make a lot of people feel uncomfortable on the tram.

As you would expect, I went to bed at 6am again. I know, I know.

So how was the first date? All I’m gonna say is :everythingwentbetterthanexpected:

My ‘brownies’ were an epic fail though. Tried some recipe I found online, lol.

My brownies were so dry they turned into a chocolate cake. Shane (being the experienced cake man that he is) said I might’ve put in too much flour.

Plan to make another batch sometime this week to try and formulate my own  super brownie recipe.

Oh, and I was supposed to head over to Kairos today at 8pm to fix up my hair but turns out there’s GCAC at 8. Fail.

But yeah, time to get my study on. Completely neglected uni work over the weekend so I have some stuff to catch up on.

Might not even go out this Friday :O . I don’t know, we’ll see what I feel like. I think there’s gonna be a LAN party down in the JCR.

Been a long while since we did that – for Dota ofc. Lol, we used to play all the way till 6 in the morning.

Oh, so Korean National Night has been confirmed to be the first week of October.

And Richard brought up the possibility doing this as a performance:

Yay? Nay?

Also might be doing Mr Saxobeat with Ben for music night. How awesome does this sound?!

Maybe a variation of that.

Dat moment

Okay cakes, quickie right here.

I tweeted about this, but it kinda needs a whole post.

You know when you’re walking on a street and you see someone you know but not well enough?

I mean, if you’re good friends with this person you’d start a conversation with them or embrace or whatever, right?

But what if you don’t usually talk to this person? Kind of like how both of you know each other exist but are not really friends.

And you see them walking towards you. And you have to avoid eye contact if they’re too far away to say “hi”. It’s weird.

Where do you fucking look?

And you have to time your greetings perfectly; because if you say hi too early, there’s going to be this awkward silence when the two of you finally walk past each other.

Too late and it would seem like you didn’t want to acknowledge that person.

And even still, there doesn’t seem to be a proper way (to me, at least) to greet these ‘not-so-friends’ when we bump into them on the way to uni or where ever.

There’s still that moment where you absolutely must not make eye contact sometime before and after greeting them.

And there’s this list of ways that we greet these not-so-friends:

• The obviously forced smile while you walk past each other
• The smile with one hand raised (waving slightly) from a distance
• The nod + a conservative smile
• Double raised eyebrows (with optional silent ‘hi’)

I hope I’m not the only one doing all of these.

Chances are, if I don’t really know you, I probably greeted you with one of the above.

Too much cake

I just had some cheesecake, yum.

Austin and Celia brought their freshers over to my place for coffee and cake so I get the leftover cheesecake!

Win.

Figured this would be the perfect time to write an entry. Currently waiting for Tom to get back from the pub crawl so we can finish our L4D game once and for all.

Don’t think we’re gonna sleep until we finish. Well, I might pass out.

Got back at 5-ish last night but couldn’t fall asleep again. Ish.

So I ended up just lying on my bed for like 3 hours and when the sun came up I was pretty much wide awake.

I even tried reading lecture notes for linear algebra but I ended up learning things instead. Fml.

So yeah, that’s why I’m still awake – in an attempt to fix my sleep cycle. Had a 15 minute nap just before dinner so feeling heaps better.

Uni is starting soooooooon. Lol, bumped into PC this morning on my way to brekkie and he congratulated me on my H1.

Made my day, you cake.

Hopefully this sem goes better than the last. Still can’t be satisfied knowing I’m gonna have to do Calc 2 again, probs over summer. Ew.

God, I really need a job asap. Gonna have to borrow money from my parents so I’m not so poor lol.

Feels good to be back in IH after weeks in tiny, tiny UniLodge. Good brotation though.

Still so many things to do. Have to go collect that crockery set for my mom, get a proof of age card, read ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ and get a myki.

Dan says I probably deserve like 3 tram fines for all the times I tram hopped. I can’t really disagree.

I’ve been going around since the start of the year without even a ‘back-up ticket’ and there’s always something wrong with 7Elevens everytime I go in to buy a myki.

Oh and the IH Play is coming up. Gonna be a busy first few weeks I’m guessing.

I’m a Mock Turtle, lol.

Then we have Music Night (still haven’t figured out what I wan’t to do with Dani) and National Night.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo.

Oh, I just finished recording the basic stuff for 2NE1’s Be Mine but feeling a bit reluctant to post it up cos I sound like shit lol.

I’ll blame my developing sore throat.

I’m gonna go try and find something productive to do now. Like sort out my timetable.

It’s you! My cakes!

Wow, restoring a normal sleeping pattern is a lot harder than I thought. I think last night was the earliest that I’ve slept in a while.

6am.

Plus classes start in like four days.

Missed the sunlight again today. I’ve basically become an owl.

God, the apartment is a mess. Bowls and plates everywhere. We did a lot of eating last night. It was a good night.

This personal financial crisis thing is killing me, really. Boon keeps telling me of all these sales on Asos and all the cheap shit that he’s bought.

And there are so many things that I told myself I would buy. All this is because I couldn’t get a job over winter. Fml.

My uncle was supposed to hook me up. He even told me he had a job for me as a promoter at Seven. LOL.

But what was most promising was that he said they were willing to hire me at a Korean restaurant on Elizabeth.

Still haven’t heard from them. Much like the other 15 places I applied to .______.

Even the form I submitted to Alumbra earlier this week hasn’t prompted a reply.

Eventually I’m gonna have to find a job. Can’t live on ‘future Jeremy’s money’ forever.

Been like this since we went to Gold Coast. But it was worth it.

Batman in 2 hours! Excite.

Lucy says it’s shit. But then again, she thought Spiderman, Avengers and Brave was shit.

Oh and hair update – that diagonal half-shave that I did a couple months ago is still making my hair look weird -.-

And, hair colour is getting boring so I think I’m going back to blonde! (and then either red or orange. we’ll see)

Anyhoo, time to go get ready and stuff.

Yes cakes, I updated once last semester. Lazy boy is lazy.

So, what’s new? New semester, new freshers, new subjects, and a completely fucked up timetable.

I swear I’m gonna have to get up at 8 in the morning for 4/5 days a week and we all know how that’s not possible for Jeremy.

Winter break is almost over, and I think I’m pretty happy with how I spent it (apart from my personal financial crisis).

Did a lot of chilling.

Even when we went out, we went to places like Starbucks to chill. Rooftop bar – to chill. Dinner across the Yarra – to chill. Joomak – chill. Cho Gao – yeah.

The only other interesting place that we go to is Maze.

Been clubbing almost every single week since the start of the year. Though we had like a 2 week break towards the end of last sem.

I’ve applied to be a promoter at Alumbra so hopefully I get it. Need a change of environment every now and then.

Celebrated my birthday here for the first time evah. And it was a good birthday.

Justin’s surprise transit/visit meant I got to meet three groups of friends that day and they all somehow met each other either at futsal or Dessert Story.

Sooooo gooooood.

Okay I’ve been dying to get this out for some time. Sort of one of the reasons why I decided to make an update.

Someone’s been annoying me lol.

Look, I know it’s stupid to write a post just to rant about a specific person but hey, shit’s getting worse with this person.

If you’re gonna do something nice, do it out of good will. It’s sometimes pretty easy to tell when you’re sucking up.

If you genuinely say don’t worry about it. I won’t.

If you wan’t something in return for your sucking up, at least hint or jokingly say so.

Look, I know all you want to do is fit in. The most you could do is show some sincerity.

So please don’t come up to my face like I am forever in your debt.

It’s getting to the stage where your very presence annoys me.

And what is this thing you have with your ‘national pride’?

It’s funny how easy it is to read you sometimes. You can’t stand being ridiculed.

You can’t take a joke and you can’t lose an argument.

Come on, stop being so stuck up. Stop being so showy.

Yes, everyone knows you can sing. But please don’t try to prove it to every new person you meet.

And, (metaphor alert) if we split the bill on something and I decide to throw away my part after I’ve paid you, I don’t owe you shit.

I paid for my part, I fucking do what I want with it.

The worst part is that you get all pissy about it and have the nerve to ask me if I’m going to pay for wastage.

Bitch be trippin’. You know I was ‘this’ close you losing my shit in your face if I didn’t call him out.

I heard you’ve been having a hard time with everything. Maybe if you were more sincere and modest things would be different.

Don’t worry, I don’t normally get pissed off at people unless you’re really really ‘special’.

I meet these kind of people about once a year so I guess we just have to get along eventually.
